It’s been great! We additionally but a disposable potty pad UNDER the turf and throw those out every morning **Q: How do you get your dog to start using it, my bichon is completely uninterested. Did anyone get dog attractant spray or pheromones?** A: I tried for months to get my dog to use this and nothing worked, until we used real grass. He's 7 and hasn't had an accident in the house ever so this was tricky to get him to switch to. We bought a 4x2 piece of sod from Home Depot, cut it to size and placed the real grass on top of the fake grass. For 2 days he continued to avoid peeing inside. This next part is weird so please don't judge me...since he's a male and enjoys marking I went and collected some neighbors dog poop and placed it on the grass. Like magic, he peed right on top, we gave him lots of treats and praise and he learned that it was ok to pee on the indoor grass patch. After about 4 days he was confidently using it consistently so we removed the sod and he didn't even notice. It took some work on our end but he's been using the fake grass with no issues ever since. **Q: Does the grass maintain itself? Or do you have to buy replacements every so often? If not, how often do you clean it?** A: We love this product so much! Got it about 1 year ago. Yes, I buy replacement pads. How often it needs to be replaced depends on amount of use, indoor/outdoor use & how well its cleaned/maintained. We have 1 in a bedroom so I replace the grass about every 6 - 8 weeks. When it’s new, I clean it every 3 - 4 days or so but as it gets older, every other day. I thoroughly spray the grass, both sides, with a vinegar solution made of equal parts of vinegar and water. I let that sit a lil bit while I spray the base & the middle detachable grid tray with Clorox & use a brush with a handle to scrub them, then rinse & dry. Then I slowly rinse grass from top to bottom (or side to side) with the hose or removable shower head. Sometimes I leave the grass out in the sun to dry. Other times I use an old towel. I started putting a pee pad in the tray @ the bottom & it’s made clean up much easier, @ least for indoor clean up. **Q: Would this accomodate a 70lb pitbull?** A: I wouldn’t use it for my 65lb Australian Shepherd. He wouldn’t even fit on it. My daughter’s 4lb puppy uses it and it’s the perfect size for him.
