Mon vélo (Giant Seek 2) était initialement équipé de Maxxis Detonator. Des pneus très rapides et légers, mais qui crevaient mes chambres à air à un rythme effrayant ! Outre le coût supplémentaire que cela finissait par représenter, il est plutôt angoissant, lorsqu'on part loin de chez soi pour 150+ km, de penser qu'on a quasiment 1 chance sur 2 de crever. D'autant qu'équipé d'une simple pompe à main, il n'est impossible de retrouver une pression satisfaisante dans le pneu pour ne pas gâcher la sortie.Bref changement pour ces Marathon Plus dont je peux vous parler avec du recul puisque ce sont mes 2es : après plusieurs milliers de km (3, je pense), l'usure a fait disparaître une partie du grip, d'où le remplacement. Ils n'ont jamais crevé de chambre à air sur toute leur vie, offrent une adhérence remarquable même par temps de pluie, sur terrain glissant. Le bandeau réfléchissant qui parcourt chaque côté du pneu offre par ailleurs une très bonne visibilité latérale du vélo.Évidemment, cela se paie : le pneu n'est pas aussi léger que les pneus offrant moins de protection anti-crevaison (tel celui mentionné plus haut). Mais ne pas s'inquiéter du moindre caillou pointu a ses avantages !
