The onboard compressor is quiet and powerful and just gets it done. Will cut 1/4" plate cleanly and will sever 3/4". Thicker materials are slow and not super clean but good enough for demo work which is half of what this machine will be used for. When cutting 1/4 or thinner material with a cut guide, the edge is clean and sharp. Makes for easy cleanup and fitup. Overall a very well designed and manufactured machine. I will also wear a dark lens goggle! There is cutting safety goggles and glasses or a face shield! Always protect your eyes! **Q: Does this have pilot arc? Would it be good to use on a 4x4 plasma table? (Cutting no more the 3/16")** A: No!
