I buy 5 extra nasal pillows when I purchase a complete cpap DreamWear mask, then I am stocked for a year. **Q: how often does the pillow need to be replaced? Thank You...** A: I have 4 pillows that I rotate monthly.....so each pillow gives me at least 3 months of usage if not more......If the pillow leaks too much, it's time to replace. **Q: do i need the frame also to were this one ?** A: Yes you do. The air travels through the frame to the nose cushion. There is a hose connector on the top of the frame (keeps the hose away from your face) and an elastic belt to hold the frame on the head. This is an extremely comfortable setup and I highly recommend it to anyone using a CPAP. It is made of very "soft", thin silicone type plastic. Very easy to sleep on your side or back. Had a great night sleep on the first try. Does not irritate the nose/face like the typical CPAP masks. One note, there are specific measurements for the frame. Do some research online to get the correct size and complete package. **Q: does this replacement cushion have the nasal pillows that fit into the nose or just fit over the nose?** A: It fits under the nose. I tried the nasal pillow cushions that fit into the nostrils and simply couldn’t use them. Both nasal cushions arrived in sealed manufacturer's packaging as expected. I've been using the DreamWear headgear with the Philips Respironics DreamWear Nasal Cushions for 5 weeks now. I'm a new CPAP user and when outfitted with this device the tech said he had been using these nasal cushions with great success. Never having used any CPAP masks I have no point of comparison, but I do think that the softness of the cushion in combination with it not being inside my nose made it easier to get used to wearing it. I also think I was fitted properly as I've had no leaks since wearing the device. If you wear the DreamWear nasal pillows (inside the nose) with the DreamWear headgear, you can get these to use instead as they connect the same way. The entire headgear can be placed inside a SoClean 2 sanitizer for easy cleaning of the mask, hose and water tank all at one time. Great price on these nasal cushions by comparison to my CPAP supplier through insurance, and it's the exact same product.
