The instructions mention to not apply it after I shower but I accidentally did that. However, it does not make a difference whether you applied after a shower or not. As long as your armpits and dry and hairless. I wait for it to dry a bit before putting any clothing. I did not experience the burning sensation but my armpits were a bit itchy, but manageable.
