The Auto Frequency Control (AFC) function expands the AM radio reception range and simplifies tuning. It eliminates the need for exact tuning precision by automatically selecting the nearest station. Noise is also reduced while tuning to enhance listening comfort.

I am using rechargeable batteries 2 x AA, but to be honest I didn't need to recharge them yet, it barely consume batteries.

Works as expected, it took me back in time to the late 1970s when I had a similar one, AM works excellent as well as FM band. I am using rechargeable batteries 2 x AA, but to be honest I didn't need to recharge them yet, it barely consume batteries.
