With newer Maglite (bi-pin) the white adapter mut alo be removed (imply pull out). Maglite LED lamp cannot be converted with the module. Legal Disclaimer This LiteXpress LED upgrade module LXB430 is designed to be used with original Maglite incandescent Flashlights only! The LiteXpress LED Modules LXB404, LXB530 and LXB525 will only function to your satisfaction if your Maglite is equipped with 3-7 C or D cell batteries! It cannot be used for Maglite ML25IT series or Maglite fitted with an LED from the factory. The original Maglite can be identified by its circumferential laser inscription around the bezel. No Maglite logo, you don't own an original Maglite, the LiteXpress LED module may not fit!

Review: Great for tight beam only... - This has absolutely given my old Maglite, which was being outdone by even cheap LED torches, a new lease of life. It's great on tight beam, but when you adjust to flood there is a large dark patch in the middle of the beam which makes it pretty useless. Still a good upgrade, but not ideal without the flood option.

**Q: Hi, can anyone tell me how the 2 modes are controlled please? Maglites I own have just a single on/off switch. Thanks.**
A: It's a double press thing.
You press the button halfway down and it's less bright, then complete the press all the way down and it stays at that brightness.
next time it is pressed, the light is brighter.
There is probably some logic in the presses which someone else might have figured out, but basically it all works on the one button, and the bulb magically knows what brightness you want, or it will on the next press, anyway.

Bought this to upgrade a ten year old 2 cell maglite, which, to be honest , never impressed me with it's light . Fitted this in seconds, and amazed at the difference, full lum is incredibly bright and white, even the power saving mode is good for most uses and will run for a claimed 90 hours. Delighted with my purchase. The maglite will no longer sit in a drawer, but will be used!
