We lowered it to lowest when we put it together for a 3 year old, but not easily adjusted as I look at it now without instructions. It does involve loosening screws. I also use it with my 200 lbs. and it is steady enought, I don't use the bar but it's there if I get off balance. This is a straps not springs tramp. The straps are covered nicely. I ready many reviews before purchasing this one. It has worked out very well for a crazy flying 3 year old and for this adult. **Q: Could I use this in a second floor apartment without making my downstairs neighbors insane?** A: Absolutely you can!
