What is significantly different from aircraft crimp tools that I am familiar with is the width of the jaws. The jaws on this tool is approximately .070" wider than the jaws on my Loos brand crimper. On a standard 1/8" copper sleeve (18-4-M Nicopress Sleeve) this results in the crimped areas touching each other. It does not produce the classic three crimps with the sleeve being a larger diameter between the crimps and at the ends as is shown in the ad for this product. I had no problem using this tool on a work bench without it being attached to the bench. It is certainly easier to use that a standard crimper where you really need three hands. I do not have the equipment to do pull test cables made with this tool. It would be interesting to know how the crimps with this tool fare in a pull test. Overall a good tool.
