I have tried everything you can purchase, and MiraLAX is the smoothest acting, least bloating product there is. The problem has always been the price, so using the low price through Amazon's subscription service has saved me so much over the last few months alone. In most stores, I am saving between $7 and $2.50 for each bottle. And the average savings is about $4.50 per bottle. Most drug stores have their own generic of MiraLAX, and I have tried them all, they seem to work okay, not quite as well as the brand product, and quality control is not great. Also, the second best thing about MiraLAX, after its lack of side effects, is its lack of taste. I can't say the same thing for the drugstore brands. There is no substitute. I should add that I use two other laxatives, but only because the body seems to get used to one product and it can begin to work less well than usual. This is on the advice of my doctor.
