Send or receive Messages?** A: This is a "well behaved" product which seems to meet its specifications. I recommend this product for what it does. It works well for both send and receive. I have several of them. Serial communications can be a bit "tricky" so if you are not familiar with it, I recommend either a book or research on the internet. The package included a 4 conductor cable approximately 12 inches long. It is designed to plug into the "TTL" end. **Q: Does the tx go into high-z (tri-state) when not transmitting, so it can be used on modbus or multi-drop lines?** A: Yes. It works well with Modbus multi-drop lines as long as your "master" is working according to spec. Great bit of kit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Qualitativ hochwertig *by B***3 on 5 February 2024* Gutes Produkt, kommt in einer ordentlichen Verpackung. Funktionalität einwandfrei. Im Gegensatz zu MAX485 muss beim MAX13487 Chip die Übertragungsrichtung nicht händisch geschaltet werden was sehr bequem ist. Zu den negativen Punkten: es wäre wünschenswert den Durchmesser der Montagelöcher in der Produktbeschreibung mit anzugeben. Diese sind M2 (Grüße an denjenigen der diese Frage mit "kann ich nicht sagen" beantwortet hat: eine solche Antwort hilft _überhaupt_ nicht weiter). Und da wäre noch der Preis. Günstigere MAX13487-Alternativen funktionieren genauso gut (vielleicht nicht bei Randbedingungen wie dem versprochenen 15kV ESD-Schutz, dies müsste aber extra getestet werden). Also als Einzelbestellung an der Preisschmerzgrenze noch OK.
