Also, since the headphones have a mic built in, they're both a receiver and a transmitter. We used to call that a transceiver. Anyway, there are a lot of things that can affect the range of your headphones but they should work just fine as long as you're not going outside of the room that houses the device they're connected to. Afterthought: I used to have quite a few issues with my Bluetooth range when using a dongle instead of a newer wifi/network card in my computer. It didn't always make sense since the dongle was located in the front of my computer...making it closer. Turned out that was the problem. You can get too close with Bluetooth.
