Those derived from Krill are phosphorylated (I haven't confirmed this myself as a mass spectrometer is not readily available to me), making them more bioavailable. Makes sense to me, as in general biological molecules with phosphorylation marks and other such modifications behave much differently than the unmodified forms (especially true for proteins). Krill, being the magnificent creatures they are, also contain large quantities of Astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substance that gives many fish and in this case krill their pinkish color. I took some triple-strength, maximum human allowable dosage fish oil pills before switching to these.
