I confess that these might have been included in the original package, but I no longer have the small items that I did not need at that time. There is nothing on the board itself, out of the box, that facilitates attachment. It would have to be something that comes with it or that you improvised yourself. Unless the Velcro squares he is referring to had a magnetic backing, you would have to be willing to use an adhesive backing to attach them to your refrigerator. **Q: Can the clip for the marker be removed** A: Yes, of course it can. Directions are included for removing and replacing the clip, which can be inserted into the ridge on any of the four sides of the board. My board arrived only an hour ago and I have already moved the clip from the short to the long edge, no problem. **Q: what the actual white board section is made of?
