Static pressure is the force the air can pushed out of the fan. High air flow is a measurement of cubic feet per minute of air the fan can move at its peak.Usually a High static pressure fan will have a High CFM also. The reasons to get a High static pressure fan is if you need to blow air through a radiator/CPU cooler or even Pull air through a screen filter. This are where you need the pressure. Unlike, say a rear exhaust fan, where nothing obstructs the airflow. This fan will be good for any placement you decide on in your case as it does move a ton of air no matter what. Just make sure you have it plugged into something that controls the speed based on the heat and not just running at 100% speed all the time as it will be loud at 3K RPM and almost silent at 1K or below.Also the NF-F14 has more airflow than the NF-F12. **Q: Do these come with a Y-Cable?** A: No. Y-cables need to be purchased separately. **Q: Can you use an ULNA on this Fans? At what RPMS they will run with it at full load?** A: These fans draw considerably more current than the non-commercial fans. I don't know the current handling capacity of the ULNA you are considering but, if it is one from Noctua's other fans, I would worry about its reliability. The fan is designed to be controlled by PWM and the minimum speed it can run at in that environment is about 1300 RPM (40-42% PWM). Wide open the fan runs at 2900-3000 RPM. These fans are designed for maximum air flow and, while they are pretty mechanically silent, the air flow will generate some noise - especially if you have a filter in front of the fan. **Q: How loud is this thing / which model is quietist?** A: Doesn't serm load to me . I've got 2 in my server but i also have less hearing & tolerate my sever. I've never been told too loud, & you can throttle it if needed. Since it is 3k rpm, the high pitch noise will start around 2000 to 2100 and above. Sharing this just in case buyers are considering this product vs noise. I also purchase the 120mm ones and that one is a higher pitch than this when it hits 2000rpm. It can be annoying when you are doing big file encoding for a lengthy period, ambient temperature plays a big role as always.
