The thermostat can run on two AA batteries and doesn't require a C wire to operate although if you have one it's a good idea to connect it so it can be powered from the furnace and only use the batteries as a back up. The programming is done on the thermostat screen itself. The instructions are good and the menu is intuitive and easy to follow. This thermostat looks good and isn't too big or industrial looking. It's very stylish and the LCD screen is backlit so it's easy to see in dim hallways or at night. If you're looking for a reliable, programmable thermostat that looks good and is easy to install - You've found it! At a price of $77 it's affordable and competitive with other programmable thermostats. Overall I like this thermostat a lot, the only feature I wish it had was a trim ring so it would cover the screw holes left by previous thermostats in some installations. Many other thermostats have a trim bezel or trim plate that can be installed behind the thermostat to cover larger areas then the thermostat itself. This one doesn't offer that option so if the thermostat you are replacing is larger than the RTH6360 you will have to patch the exposed screw holes and repaint around the thermostat. **Q: Will this thermostat let you set a range in temperature, temp set at 70 but the thermostat will not turn on till it drops down to 68 then heat back up**
A: I have this thermostat and set it for +/- 1 degree. If I have it on heat at 70 degrees, it's supposed to heat to 70, turn off and then not turn back on until it goes to 69 then it heats to 70. I installed this thermostat a few months ago and noticed that it comes on much, much more often than my old thermostat. For the last week, each time it comes on I immediately look at the display and see that it's set at 69, the room temperature is 69 and it's turning on. Why??? I'm getting rid of this thing, my heating bill has increased since putting it in.

A: Yes, it will adjust to what you set it manually and then will follow according to the next program schedule as it comes

**Q: Does is have vacation mode?**
A: yes, I just checked my app Aug/2022 and it DOES have a vacation mode now, it's like a permanent hold funcion where you can set the Vacation Mode Temperature for Heat and Cool.

**Q: Does the switch from cool to heat work automatically as the temperature rises or falls?**
A: Yes, if the system mode is set to "Auto" the Honeywell Home RTH6360D1002 Programmable Thermostat will automatically switch from heating to cooling, or vice versa, depending on the temperature in your home.

I was looking for a Basic Programmable Thermostat that was easy to install, reliable and was easy to setup and control. That's exactly what this Honeywell RTH6360 thermostat is. Installation was straightforward. Had to replace an aging honywell thermostat. I really like this mainly for the auto feature so I dont wake up in a cold house. That time of the year. The filter status and other programming features is great. The installation was incredibly easy and the manual was very helpful. I'm not a hvac tech and this was still VERY straightforward. The aesthetics are a plus. Looks great! I wanted something modern and functional but didnt want to go overboard with the wifi smart added junk features. Reasonably priced and works perfectly. Oh, and if the temps dont seem to feel and temp correctly at first, it took about a good 24 hours before the actual current temp readout stated to make sense and reas correctly. (I noted this in the questions) Measured ambient, intake and exhaust temps the way my hvac buddy told me to and its functioning correctly so far. A thanks goes out to the manufacture for reaching out about my question. They were correct indeed, it takes a bit of time to acclimate. Great thermostat!
