What is the longest you have had it open and it still works as expected for you?** A: Loctite Rep said the "stick" shelf life from date of manufacture is 4 years. Rep said Manufacture date is 2nd and 3rd series of numbers/ letters in the batch number. Example Batch Number example L3 7 B AC569. Number 7 will indicate last number of the year No clarification was given if 2017 would be 7 or 17. And and letter B will indicate month, B = February. **Q: INeed to remove the bolt, can you do it with tools? Liquid says yes, reviewers say stick is permanent. Can't be permanent for my purpose .** A: loctite says: Threadlocker Blue 242® is great for Securing nuts and bolts from accidental loosening. Removes with hand tools.I say: It depends. Size of the locking area, strength and condition of the fastener. Now on a typical 5/16'' nut and bolt is a very small locking area so Blue is totally removeable as long as it's clean with no rust or burrs. Got dirt, rust, wire brush em unless their too far gone. Chase the threads on burrs. If you don't and it's a cheap grade fastener... It's gonna break and may ruin your day. Remember, this stuff turns into a crystalline structure under pressure. Sticks to everything including dirt and rust. So the impregnated rust, dirt and burrs are bigger now which causes binding upon removal. The LOCTITE 290 Wicking Grade Green is kool stuff. Apply after assembly and doesn't take much. Almost as strong as Blue, easy removal qualities and costs more. So don't spill it. Threadlocker Red 271 is for grade 8 fasteners or better. I use this on all of my computer screws, including an older MacBook. I'm not aware of anything special about MacBook screws, or oem screws, that would make them less suitable. This is a mechanical bond, so the more threads that engage, and the finer the gap of the engagement, the better it works. **Q: Is there a max temperature for storage?
