It's a manga from the 80s which has been reprinted. It's not boy's loge per sé even if there may be lots of hints to that because of all the raping and sexual harassment. The story goes deeper and shows you a story about a boy with lots of potential for everything ending up at the wrong places until the end... The friendship between Ash and Eijii is a heartwarming one, which will make you tear at some parts of the story...

裏書に「final showdown」と書かれてしまう、対オーサー戦。この8巻で最終巻に繋がる布石が打たれます。ヘミングウェイの短編「キリマンジャロの雪」の西の頂きに眠る豹の死体の話から、アッシュの死生観が垣間見えます。答える英二の言葉の熱量が凄い。「君は豹じゃない。運命は変えることができる。」(アッシュの「Year.That I am.」(日本語原本通り)を引き出すため、& 否定疑問文という制約を避けるため、英訳多少変わってしまってますが……。)感動のポイントは不変。自分より常に仲間を庇い優先するアッシュの「武士道」精神(アメリカ人なのに…。)、敵を揺るがす頭脳戦、全て堪能できる一冊です。
