Check product dimensions for the size of the keyboard tray and mouse panel. The mounting rail is about 5.5x16" (although you can cut it if you need less depth...altering the product does void the return potential). The provided mounting screws generally require at least 3/4" desktop or thicker. If you have a thinner desktop, you can always pick up shorter screws at any hardware store. **Q: Is this keyboard tray spring loaded?** A: KT1 is not spring loaded! There is 1 simple point of adjustment that lets you position keyboards in the optimal position for you. KT 1 lets you:1. Change Keyboard Height (from about 4.5" below desk level to desk-height)2. The only modification I've made to it is adding another layer of non-slip material (that slightly tacky, honey-combed material that you line drawers with) to the keyboard surface, the two pads that are there allow more slipping than I like, but otherwise, I have been very happy with it and would buy it again. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly as expected *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 27 October 2024* I ordered this for a specific setup that I had, and it's exactly as described in measurements and the pictures. no disappointment at all this fits my requirement and need. needs little oiling for the joints to move and pull in and out but everything else works perfectly. the tray could be tilted to the right, or left and also upwards and down. while I work I change my posture alot I lean back sometimes and or I sit straight, this is really perfect to how I planned to setup my desk. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy and functional *by on Reviewed in Canada 14 March 2018* I'm building a custom desk and wanted to include a large custom adjustable keyboard/mouse tray and the hardware from this kit was just what I needed to make this work.The included hardware and surface works great for most uses and keeps wobble to a minimum but I'm a fan of having a large surface (my current mouse pad is 17"x15") so I removed the included surface and currently use a single 36"x16" piece of 3/4" maple plywood instead and it still works. Although I do plan on cutting it down a bit to make it easier to adjust.Keep in mind that the hardware allows for about 9" of sliding back under the desk, which is fine for the included surface, but obviously not for my huge one. The good news is you can get a 2nd set of rails, remove the bumpers and align them to allow for more sliding range.All in all I'm very satisfied with the kits, the quality is there and if it can hold my 16"x36" piece of plywood I can assure you it's sturdy enough to hold a more typical setup. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tres bien *by on Reviewed in France 24 October 2016* Installation assez rapide, le produit semble très solide. je cherchait une tablette pour clavier ergonomique à hauteur variable pour une position de travail optimisée, le produit y répond, pivote ou coulisse pour pouvoir le ranger.
