It is a fabric that prevents soil from passing through in to the well.👍🏻 **Q: Can we use it for a fish pond filter?** A: I'm using it to filter fine dirt through a pump to drain my back yard when it floods, and I'm using rocks before the pump as a rough filter for leaves and coarse dirt. So, it might be suitable for a pond, though I don't know if it will hold up to prolonged use.
