**Q: I see no specification of MK-4 in the product descrip or the photos of the container.  How do buyers know that this is MK-4?**
A: Dahlia,            The active Vitamin K2 in thei product is indeed MK-4(menatetrenone)...MK7 is also an especially effective absorbable form of Vitamin K and some manufacturers blend Vit.K1 with the Vit.K2 but so long as you get K2 in softgel form and take it with some fat soluble meal you can rest assured that you will get the benefits of Vitamin K...Eggs are an especially good source of K2...Hope this helps. **Q: Is this the cis or trans form of vitamin K2?**
A: This product contains ONLY Vitamin K2 MK-4 (as menatetrenone).  This is not a mixture of K2 MK forms and there is no MK-7 in it.  The bottle does not indicate whether this is a mixture of cis, trans or even a single isomer. K2 trans forms appear to be the active form in humans, but I have read that whether they are ingested in the cis or trans form is simply "marketing hype."  Even K1 can be converted by gut micro-organisms into small amounts of K2.  Note that I am not a chemist and CANNOT CONFIRM THIS.

**Q: what is the difference between vit k 1 and vit k 2?**
A: Most studies in Vit K2 have been done with MK-4, not MK-7Author of Calcium Paradox recommends MK-7 only because she's Canadian and large doses of MK-4 are not possible by Canadian Law.There are certain studies that show that MK-7 does not have certain positive features as MK-4.There are many failed tests with MK-4 because the IDIOT researchers didnt use enough MK-4, or didnt use it with fats, or didnt have enough Vit D3 available in the blood, or magnesium levels were poor.With Vit MK-7, lots of people get heart palpitations. Read the reviews.Vit K1 = is for blood clottingVit K2 is to control calcium levels in soft tissue and blood and helps calcium go to he correct places (bones/teeth/gums)BTW/ one of higher concentrations of K2 reside in salivary glands in your mouth, 2nd to the pancreas.People can not convert K1 into K2 like Cows/Sheep can from the grass they eatVery little is converted.So we need supplements.Some people get this naturally either from fermented soy beans (MK-7) or from certain aged cheeses (MK-4)There are some non soy processes to get MK-7People take K2 for bone density issues and for cardio health (blood plaque removal and prevention)
