I found that one showed some signs of emerald ash borer (EAB) infestation & when I checked my application rate, found that I had misjudged my tree circumference by half. So I recently doubled up he application rate for this year to get up to a normal total for the year. My two smaller circumference trees show no signs of borer damage. This is in an area where 1/3 to 1/2 of all our parkway trees will be removed this fall due to EAB infestation and damage. **Q: Liquid vs granular; 12" tree=12oz liquid (1oz/inch) = 3cups dry (1/4c/inch). thus 10.6 12" trees per gallon, 7.5 12" trees per 10lbs. please verify.** A: I am only familiar with the liquid, which I have use for some years now. I keep a record of the plants I use it on and update for growth each year (measure them). This is not an exact science, but it works. If the tops get eaten this year, I add a little more next year. This year I bought 2 gallon jugs plus a bottle. If need be I'll add a second dose to my Climbing Hyrangea because the beetles love it. I use this formula: 128 oz. = 1 gal., 1/4 gal. = 32 oz. and 1 fl. oz. = 2 tbsp. Measure each tree/bush, record it, get the total inches and convert to gal. and oz. The label tells you how mant oz. per inch. It was also being attacked with white flies that were making the leaves and bark all black. The buds kept falling off and the leaves yellowing. I tried all the methods given online for white flies and non worked at eradicating the problem. I tried the soapy water, Neem oil and got so frustrated having to continually spray with poor results trying to save it. We eventually called this shrub Lazarus because it refused to die but kept putting out lots of lush green leaves apart from the months the white flies were active.. Then the buds started to fall off. I came across this product and decided to give it a try. Omg!! After about a week of feeding this tree with this product the white flies disappeared, the black gunk washed off the bark and leaves. For the first time in the 3 year I’ve had this shrub I’ve had numerous buds open. I can’t rate this product highly enough.
