It has a nice rubber ring completely covering the base that touches the tub/counter. However, the water will seep straight through the holes and will get water everywhere. It is great in that it air dries quickly which is good for preventing mold. I absolutely love this bath support and if your sink is big enough, it will fit nicely for an easy bath. My son is 9 months (wearing size 12 months clothes) and still needs a little help when sitting on his own. I still use this bath support but watch him closely if he tries to roll over.
