## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I need to put a poly acrylic top coat over this product? Thank you!**
A: You really should. The top coat will protect the hard work you just did painting the piece. And it's easier to clean when there's a nice smooth, glossy surface.

**Q: will this knock down the yellow tone of my golden oak cabinets? or should I try their gel stain for that?**
A: This glaze product dries very fast. it is for sticking in the ridges, cracks and edges of your work to provide depth and maybe an aged look. It wouldn't be best used to coat like a stain although you can. Van Dyke brown will tone down the color if it's too yellow but the Gel stain will give you more "open" time to work with the piece. Not sure if you have a single piece or many surfaces. Cabinets should be treated with a stain that won't dry fast to allow you to take it off if it doesn't look good. Or layered in thin coats to get the effect your looking for.

**Q: I have a China hutch that I want an antique look can apply this directly over the stain that's on it or do I need to sand it off and start from scratc**
A: For antiquing, I apply directly over the paint or stain and then wipe off the excess. Only if the wood is damaged (scratched or gouged) would you need to start over, but those very "faults" can increase the antique look.

**Q: I want to age parts of my newly painted buffet. Is this what I am looking for?**
A: This product is AMAZING. It can be however, there is a skill to it that I would advise practice several times on a less expensive scraps of wood. As a perfectionist myself, I was not able to achieve it. I ended up with the most beautiful black kitchen cabinets myself, and finished them with the water base clear coat of the same line, and the best way I can describe my cabinets to the touch is: Lux buttery delicious (if that makes any sense). Try this: apply a mix of vinegar previously soaked with wool fibers (YouTube it) to a lightly sanded surface (free of clear coat) and this will age the surface of the stained wood according to it's natural texture. This worked for me however, fell in love with the jet black look instead which I kept. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Glaze

Goes on smooth. Perfect color. Dries pretty fast.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Even a beginner can be a pro with this product!
*by L***. on 13 February 2016*

I was nervous about trying this for distressing two nightstands I was working on. I had only helped my daughter do some distressing on top of her bedroom furniture she had redone with waxes. After some research I decided to go with this glaze instead of the wax as in the future it can be sanded and repainted without too much trouble vs. the wax that would be more work to change. My nightstands turned out great - even with myself being a beginner at this! I am now hooked! Used it to distress some signs I had made and now am looking for more projects to try it out on. It is so easy to adjust the amount of distressing. I found a damp cloth removing the glaze for a less glazed look works great. Then if I take too much off I just put more on and wipe off again. Definitely a great product!
