I used it for a front timing cover on a Cummins 5.9 L in my 1995 Dodge PU. I used a small bead so as to not have excess squeeze out into the engine and it worked great. This is over a year later. Get it! **Q: Dumb question, but do you apply this stuff using a standard caulking gun?** A: Yes, I used it in a caulking gun **Q: 1/4" bead size for doing just one 7.3 psd oil pan? Oil pan bolt torque spec?** A: 1/4" bead along the short, half moon edges and 1/8" bead along the longer edges. Torque bolts to 18 ft/lbs in staggered pattern. Best to apply the RTV on the pan with the engine out of the truck and upside down to avoid oil contamination of the sealant. Temp install four 8mm X 1.25 guide studs to assist in the pan install and you have about three minutes to install the pan once sealant is applied, for maximum adhesion. Let it cure for 24 hrs. Fairly easy to apply, let dry for 24 hrs and then fill rear axle with fluid.
