The Ear Band-It Ultra is made from our custom-designed, embossed neoprene on the inner side of the headband providing extra grip on the forehead, ears, and back of the head to avoid slipping during most types of water activity. It also contains 4.0mm 100% neoprene instead of 2.0mm-3.0mm neoprene blend that other headbands use. This gives the Ear Band-It Ultra unparalleled strength and comfort. The unique shape of the Ear Band-It Ultra is different than the Original Ear Band-It headband and other swimming headbands. The ear flaps are larger, which increases the surface area, creating more grip and better coverage of the ear itself. Also the bridge at the forehead has been widened, which adds strength, reduces the potential for tearing at this stress point, and increases skin contact surface area for better grip.

**Q: Can you just wear head band and no ear plugs? Like will it keep water out or you have wear both?**
A: Ear plugs needs to be used as well to block water. A combination of the ear plugs and Ear Band-It provides maximum protection from water. Thanks for your interest!

A: We only used it with earplugs in the pool so I am not sure

**Q: Anyone do club swim and use this or the original? My teen swims 5x a week and competes, need to keep h2o out until eardrum heals.**
A: I have a son who also swims competitively and needs to keep eardrum dry after recent surgery. Can you tell me what worked best? He has custom ear plugs and silicone cap pulls out plugs. Wondering if ULTRA band it worn over plugs is enough OR he needs to wear plugs, ULTRA band it and then cap.

A: I usually just use the band when I wash my son’s hair and use the plugs with the head band when I know he is going to be submerged in water (in the pool)
