He uses all three for different purposes. His new laptop won't do some of the things his old one can do and vice versa, and the tablet is for reading. Anyway, he really does need all three. They would sit on the floor by the side of the bed, making it hard to make the bed and just creating clutter. I searched for something to help, and when I saw this I thought it might be just right. It has three slots and the slots are wide enough for laptops. I was a little worried about it tipping over with the weight, but it is perfect. He is glad to have the clutter out from under foot, so he diligently puts his computers and tablet in the sorter. It is such a relief to me to have the clutter gone and be able to walk up to the side of the bed. I put the sorter between the bed and the night stand so that if the sorter tipped over from all the tall weight, it wouldn't have gone too far; but i needn't have worried. It stays upright just fine. The sorter is made of plastic but it is heavy, sturdy plastic and is well balanced. The cords lead out the far end to my charger, where the extra lengths are curled up out of the way. The slots are wide enough to easily accommodate my iPad with its thick case on, which wasn't the case with most other storage or charger-storage combo units. It is heavy enough to support my iPad without tipping, even if the iPad is the only thing in there. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, but I probably won't have to--this thing is sturdy!
