Is my body going to get any iron from this?** A: There is some calcium present and not sure why but doesn't seem to change the therapeutic effect...Very few people need iron supplementation but if your physician recommends there should be some end point monitored such as serum iron,TIBC, ferritin etc to know when to stop...Most of us can get away with taking large iron doses indefinitely as the body regulates iron absorption based on needs but the rare individual with hemochromatosis can get iron loaded and very ill... **Q: Are these coated or are they chalky?** A: They do not have a hard coating, but are smooth to the touch and go down easily. NOT chalky to me. **Q: What is the expiration date if I order today** A: No idea...The expiration date really has no relation to when you order except that it won't be expired..
