Bondo Fiberglass Cloth provides added strength for repairs requiring extra reinforcement. Review: should have done this years ago - I've been struggling with a cracked pool step for a few years. I've used two step epoxy sticks and flextape, and other quick fixes. I finally got fed up when the step developed a new crack. this stuff is awesome. I applied white pigment for epoxy before I added the hardener to the epoxy and stirred well. I added the hardener as stated in the directions. I also used this 3m bondo fiberglass cloth just to give extra trength because the step seems hollow underneath and dips in the middle. worked out great. the directions state it has a 12 minute work time after the hardener is added. poured well and covers easily with a cheap paint brush. it hardened in just an hour. cure time is 2 hours. the key is to stir for several minutes after the hardener is added. don't be lazy in this step. it has to thoroughly be mixed, paying close attention to get the bottom of the container you use to mix it in. if you don't, the stuff on the bottom, after you pour, will be on top after pouring and will be tacky and not cure properly if you don't mix it thoroughly. i am very pleased. it's easy to use. i cut this to size, poured a thin layer of epoxy, then laid the cloth. i poured another thin layer of epoxy over it and brushed the epoxy into the cloth, saturating it and removing air pockets. then i poured the rest of the epoxy to cover the whole project. the step is strong and waterproof now. all cracks have been fixed and reinforced by this cloth and epoxy.

**Q: What are the demensions of the cloth?**
A: Bondo 499 fiberglass cloth 8 sq. ft. is 24" x 48".

**Q: Same question...what are the dimensions?  not the advertised area (square feet).  is it one large sheet? if so, what are the dimensions of that sheet?**
A: I opened the package and the actual dimensions are: ~25" by ~47" = ~8.1 square feet.  The edges are frayed a bit.The package is labeled 8 square feet.  The package does not give unfolded dimensions.  Other packages could be different.  This measurement is for Security Engineering only.

**Q: how many oz. is this cloth**
A: This feels about the same as 6 oz glass. The weave is opened up more then other 6 oz glass which makes  it more see though.  I'd stick to marine grade 6 oz glass.

**Q: does it have a sticky back**
A: No, it's like a woven piece of fiberglass that you have to apply with resin.  I can't remember if the kit comes with it or not, but essentially you soak the clothing in the resin, then apply it and smooth it out.  It dries pretty quickly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's fiberglass mat

This fiberglass mat works as expected. It's my first time doing any fiberglass work, but I'm learning and improving the more I do it. I am using a double layer of this matting to rebuild the rear fenders on my van and it's doing the job....slowly due to me being a newbie at this stuff. It appears that it's best to use smaller pieces to cover the area and build up several layers over time. I still have to figure out how to bend it around sharp corners but that is probably an issue with any fiberglass mat.
