It clogs the pen easily. You can easily wash it off with warm water and it will peel like a skin but I have had zero luck when it comes to fountain pens and this ink. **Q: If I erase will it smear** A: I'm my experience, no, but I do a lot of inking on blue line or with a light pad. When I do ink over pencils I tend to wait at least ten minutes before erasing. If you want an ink that is sure to not smear when erased, I think the DELETER black no. 2 is the one you want. **Q: Can this ink do ink washes?** A: Yes, it's as good if not better than any other India ink. **Q: What is everyone using to apply it? This is cheaper than ones with applicators. A small brush maybe?
