This lead is long enough that I can step out of his danger zone so as to ask him to walk smallish circles around me until he regains his composure. I was walking him with a lunge line, but was constantly struggling to keep the length of it contained, especially while dealing with an anxious horse and lunge whip. The thickness and soft cotton material of this lead is good also-I have small hands so couldn't hold lots of thicker line. This one is lightly padded, so it doesn't cut my hands if my boy pulls, but it is the perfect thickness for me to be able to keep a good grip.
