A: The H8 can record up to 12 tracks at once. These include up to 4 tracks of input from a mic capsule, Inputs 1–4,
A and B, and a stereo mix of these with L/R tracks (2 tracks).
Mics can be connected to Inputs 1–4 and instruments can be connected to Inputs A and B, for example, and
recorded to corresponding input tracks 1–4, A and B.
There is an option to purchase a Zoom EXH-8 4-channel XLR Capsule for the H8. It provides an additional 4 XLR inputs.

I just got the unit, but so far this device is really living up to its name, very handy! It’s very sensitive and the peripherals seem to perform their intended uses very well. I’ve purchased Eneloop batteries and it lasts roughly 20 Hours with the use of the included smaller attachable microphones. The different modes are fairly basic but useful in the right situations, and the unit is compatible with a lot of different inputs which is fairly pleasing. The Bluetooth connection to control the unit works flawlessly and quickly. Updating the unit is fairly easy and quick. Build quality is sturdy, a mixture of metal and high grade plastics, and the screen is pleasant to use. It seems like this hub will last a very long time so I give ZOOM a high rating, well deserved! It would have been nice to have USB-C connection but micro USB is fine in any case.
