Is this normal and safe?.** A: After about 6 months our first of two started tripping the Circuit breaker when it switched on. We changed to the other one for our cheap rate night time dishwashing. So I reckon you should order another then send back the noisy one. You may have to keep doing this! But these are neat and compact. Some of them must last better than six months. **Q: Is this safe to use with my EV car charger?** A: Absolutely not. You should use software in your car or the app that came with your charge point. If you have no charge point, get one. Then get Octopus 5p off peak electricity. If you rely on a granny charger you will eventually go stark raving loony. **Q: Is it ok for timing immersion heaters?** A: I only use it to switch appliances up to 1kW, I use a Lowenenergie rated at 3.8kW 16Amp enclosed timer which is permanently wired in mounted on a flame proof box, no plugs involved. Also a down side to this plug in timer is it's too easy to move the segments while plugging and unplugging therefore making the on/off times unreliable. As always if you're unsure get a qualified electrician in. **Q: Will it turn on automatically the next day after the set time is off??** A: Yes, as long as the unit is permanently plugged into the mains electric and the side switch is set to the clock timer indicator position. Arguably, that means it spends 46 weeks a year in a box, but I this is now its 5th Christmas and it still does the job well! Easy to set up and no complicated multi-day digital menu to work through! It's not silent running (the fifth star would be for that), though the sound isn't intrusive during the day at all, just if there's nothing else going on at all.
