In return for the right care they will provide years of love, affection, companionship and more than the occasional laugh!I particularly enjoy the comments from consulted breeders who have been very open and honest in their assessment of the needs for the dog and the right owners.Each section and chapter is set out clearly with some useful tips included. As mentioned previously, from pre-owning and those important considerations and choices you should make with the breeder (as much as they will make with you) all the way through to later life and potential ailments, this book provides such important information.As a current and previous GR owner is this book useful? The honest answer is a resounding ‘yes’ given the volume of information; much of the content is new to me and will be kept close to hand as a reference document. Our puppy arrives in 2 weeks and I feel much better prepared having read just some of this book! We used the early chapters to make sure we were happy with the breeder and the pup we are purchasing. I'm now reading on to try and get some more knowledge on welcoming the pup home and getting started on training. I'm sure the book will be a valuable resource for years to come, as the chapters on health and Golden Oldies look great too.
