Construction is good also. The picture makes the external bag attached to the side to seem bigger than it is in reality. I didn't want it to look like it was a traveling suitcase, but this looks really nice. I was looking for something to take my surface pro 3 to interviews. The issue I have is that I use a hotspot. The question is where to hide the hotspot? Answer -right in the side compartment. Now I can open up the portfolio, take notes on my surface pro 3 and access the internet with my hotspot - all while doing it in style. I'm happy with the purchase.When not using this for interviews, this also works well for me when carrying around my surface pro 3. This is because I use the microsoft wedge instead of the standard surface pro 3 keyboard (love the wedge!) This slides right into the side compartment, which is really nice. It's an all around good carrying case for the tablet.I also like that it holds the tablet with a space from the edges. It is held by elastic on the four corners. If the tablet is being held with space between the tablet and the corners, then I can image the elastic would cause a buffer to an impact if the portfolio was dropped on an edge or the corner. I have not tried this, nor will I. But it would seem like there would be a little extra protection versus in the tablet was hugging the corners of the covering.
