**Q: apologies for the silly question - i dont see an "in" port. Can I connect this into one of the ports on my router to provide me with additional ports?**
A: I have 8 ports hub instead of five ports hub. I still have the instruction for either of them so the instruction says "Connect one of the Ethernet cable to one of devices then connect to the switch. It states that you can use any one port to connect so there is no special port for connecting the router.Mine connects to #1 port that connects to the router.  After connecting to the router, check to see any flashing light on the cable. If the light is still flashing, it should be Okay.

**Q: Does this work like a power strip? I plug my router into this and now I can connect 5 different devices ex Xbox or pc?**
A: Yes, you will have 4 ports for devices and 1 port for your router.

**Q: could you explain the 3 plugs in the front. What are they for?**
A: The front has 5 Ethernet ports and LEDs. The back will have Kensington security slot (left), ground connector (center), and the power adapter plug (right).

**Q: Does this work with Google home router???**
A: Yes. This will work with any ethernet connected device on a local area network.

I have only had this in for a couple of weeks, but so far everything is great. I just needed a few more ethernet ports, and this did the trick pretty inexpensively. It was easy to mount, just plugged in a patch cord from my modem to one of the ports, plugged devices into two f the other ports, tuned it on and they were talking. The speed looks good...I like it!

Plugged this in. Plugged a Cat 6 cable in and everything was working fine. It doesn't get any easier than that. I really like a metal case. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.
