The Activene gel cream kind of has the appearance and texture of lime yogurt but smells like Vick's vapor rub. I took a glob of the gel cream with a few fingers and then massaged it into my hands until there was just a little greasy feel left. I then put socks on my hands so I could still handle some items and not have to wash my hands right after use as directed, as you would if it was applied to another part of the body. I've used the Activene gel cream two times so far and I can say it's good and works for me. There was definitely a reduction in the inflammation and pain, and there was a nice cooling effect that helped sooth my sore hands. And then later when I washed my hands in the cool water, it felt nice and cold.
