My son is about 50" tall, and it works great for him. Most of the kids in our area ride scooters to and from school. He is in Kindi now, and I fully expect this to last him through elementary school. If you think your kid will actually enjoy a scooter and get some real use out it, spend the extra money and get a good one. The difference in quality is worth the price.

Bought this for my 8 yo daughter because she was interested in riding at the skate park. She’s always ride around the neighborhood with cheap scooters from Walmart. So I upgraded her with her interest in doing tricks at the park. I was impressed with the unit when I inspected it when I put it together. Looks to be a very solid piece and as soon as she rode it I could tell the scooter rolled very well compared to the cheap Walmart stuff. She loves it and can’t wait to go to the skate park with it.
