There is a section in the brain, called the Deep Limbic System (DLS) and when it is not functioning right (excessive activity in this part of the brain), these problems can occur: depression, sadness, focusing on the negative, irritability, low motivation and energy, negativity, social disconnection/isolation, low self-esteem, crying spells, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness. I was experiencing all of these. Some days I would be fine and other days I felt like I was losing my mind. I had absolutely nothing to be depressed/sad about and the littlest things would bother me and/or make me upset. I was also very irritable. It was getting out of control and it was really affecting my life and my relationship with my boyfriend. I am not too keen on taking any type of pill, which is why I avoided going to see a doctor. I knew he/she would only prescribe me anti-depressants of some sort, which are not only expensive, but also have many negative side effects. This is when I decided to give SAMe a try - and it has changed my life like I never thought possible. It improved my mood and my motivation. I am not nearly as negative and irritable as I was before and I feel really good about my life and in general. For the women out there, I also noticed an improvement in my PMS symptoms. A few things to take note of: -Check with your doctor first before taking. I didn't, but you really should. -Start off with a lower dose. I first started with 400mg and after a few days I started getting anxiety and also a headache shortly after taking. The better dose for me is 200mg, but everyone is different. -Take a vitamin B supplement with SAMe. More specifically, B12, B6 and Folate. This helps with absorbency. -DO NOT take if you have bipolar disorder or are taking other anti-depressants. SAMe is best taken on an empty stomach. Wait 30 minutes or so before eating. I take mine in the morning, along with a vitamin B complex and it has worked out very well. Also be sure to give it time to work. I saw the most improvement after 2 weeks of daily usage. Hope this helps :-)

I’ve suffered from depression since I was 11. I am now 34. I was prescribed an Antidepressant in my twenties and I didn’t like the effect it had on me. I’ve always fought this on my own and tried different methods but I could not stay consistent due to my frequent breakdowns and mood changes. My coworker show this to me and I went ahead and gave it a try and I absolutely love it. I can’t explain the change in my moods, it’s like I’m more clear and can enjoy being happy longer with simple things. My thoughts aren’t spiraling out of control..I can control my emotions more . I am able to get things done instead of finding a way to lay in bed or distant myself. It’s truly amazing. I’m telling more people about this. It truly has made a difference in my life and others. The only down side to this is it does cause diarrhea lol but honestly I’d take diarrhea over depression any day. I’m now just looking into a probiotic lol ***also it’s not just the supplement that going to change you, basically it has stabilized me to where I can do things to better myself and strengthen myself mentally. If you are taking this for depression you can’t just depend on a pill you have to go out and take action. Utilize it to tackle your challenges goals and new positive habits. I hope It does good to you how it has done for me. <3
