Absolutely worked and I was happy. My camcorder is old and I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it to save video from the tapes I had.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ FOR THE CANON HV40 USER MISSING A POWER SUPPLY

My OEM power supply grew legs and walked. Needed a new one and found this. It works, however, you will want to get another A/C cord to plug into the back of it. The one that comes with this unit is REALLY SHORT. I swapped out the stock a/c for a longer one so that it could reach the power strip. It's fine for the money...I don't know if CANON even still MAKES the OEM unit, as the HV40 is no longer manufactured. At least I don't THINK it's still manufactured. But I still dig the camera, even if it is tape. Perhaps if my music project makes a huge splash upon completion, I may get one of the nifty new cameras using SDXC. Still, the HV40 still rocks if you know how to use it.
