I used this to put new, wider, riser bars on an old 90's MTB my son is using to commute at school. The old quill stem had been bent at some point over the last 30 years, and it made it a bit awkward to ride. I also bought a new stem with less reach and a better angle, it's much more comfortable now. It’s slightly undersized compared to a known good 21.1mm stem, calipers to 20.9, and while it might seem small that 0.2 makes the difference.
