And I like that they have a pretty accurate burn duration so you can buy the "length of burn" you want. So if we just want a short 1.5 hr fire, we use the correct Duraflame rated for 1.5 hrs. When it's done, there's usually nothing left but some ashes to scoop up. These create a small, controlled fire and that's all we need. If heat or roaring, crackling flames were desired, I'd use traditional logs. I also love believing that these are more eco-friendly, re-using sawdust from other operations that might otherwise have been thrown out. But I haven't done my research yet and don't know if this is true. For all I know these are made from trees cut down just for this purpose, and perhaps not even from sustainable, renewable tree farms. I need to look into it more. If that's the case, I'll edit my review and quit buying the product.
