We have had ours for months and love it! I have also given them as little gifts for those that I see just throw their opened packs of sliced cheese in the cheese drawer. They have loved it as well! May fit some brands of sliced cheese but not all. **Q: will it keep unwrapped slices fresh?** A: It shuts tight, but I do not think it would keep unwrapped slices fresh. I rarely put unwrapped slices in it, and when we did, they dried out slightly on the edges.
