Review: The Last Battery Maintainer You’ll Want to Buy - I was skeptical at first because there are so many battery chargers/maintainers out there, but after using NOCO Genius chargers for a while, I’m genuinely impressed. I now own FOUR of them. I started with the NOCO Genius 1 for my Kawasaki SxS. It worked so well that I bought a second Genius 1 for my mom’s vehicle. The packaging is excellent, the cables are thick and durable, the LED indicators are bright and easy to see even across the garage during the day, and even the small details stand out — like the rubber feet on the bottom so the unit doesn’t scratch your toolbox or workbench. The Genius Cable Extension accessory has been AMAZING. No more struggling with clamps or leaving vehicle hoods open. Once the extension is attached to the battery posts, you simply plug the charger into the quick connect and you’re done. Super clean setup and extremely convenient. One of my favorite features is the memory setting. Once you select the battery type/mode, the charger remembers it even after being unplugged for a while. That’s incredibly useful after a power outage or if you move the charger around. I also really appreciate the thermal protection and smart charging features. During a 100+ degree day in my garage, I actually watched the charger reduce/pause charging to protect the battery from heat. Heat destroys batteries, so seeing the charger actively monitor conditions gave me a lot of confidence. I tested the maintainer function as well. Once the battery reached full charge, the indicator stayed green. Then I opened the doors and turned on the parking lights to create a battery draw. Review: Must Have For Your Diesel Pickup - Bought this for an onboard maintainer in a diesel pickup. Mounted it on the ledge above the brake fluid reservoir with 3 M heavy duty outdoor velcro. Close to the battery and rock solid. This velcro has adhesive that rivals super glue. Be sure you have it where you want it the first time. ( ask me how I know). Ran the wiring in semi rigid loom and connected the ring terminals to the battery bar. Plenty of wire included ( 6 feet each for power and battery wires) . Connected the power cord to a waterproof external receptacle mounted under the vehicle's bumper. Works great, fully automatic. Returns to your last setting for battery type. No need to open the hood and select battery type each time you plug it in. For the quality, it's a bargain. Short trips or long periods of storage in a diesel are hard on batteries and they're expensive. This maintainer is cheap insurance. I plug it in about once a week and it takes about 2 hours to top off the batteries. It balances the parallel batteries perfectly, both at 12.7 volts when finished.

A: Trust the manufacturer on this question.  I am using one of these right now with an old Trace SW2512 inverter.  Works like a champ!

A: It should automatically start charging. It remembers the last setting you had it on the last time it was charging.

A: The GEN5X1 is an onboard battery charger/maintainer model for 12V batteries that connects to the battery via eyelets. The GENIUS5 is a multi-purpose battery charger/maintainer model for 12V and 6V batteries that comes with a clamp and integrated eyelet combo cable.

**Q: Do i have to turn this charger on everytime its plugged in or will it charge when it's plugged in?**
A: When plugged-in, the charger is in Standby Mode. Use the Mode Button to select the appropriate mode to begin charging. After each consecutive use, the charger remembers the last selected charge mode.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top quality without the price

I've always used NOCO GENIUS chargers on my boat and ATVs, I've got a 2025 F-150 with a lot of electronics onboard from the factory, seeing that run 24/7, even when not driving, they drain the battery, Ford suggested a onboard charger maintainer, so I went with the NOCO, in my opinion, they're the best charger maintainer made. I saw online where a lot of people were mounting them under the hood on top of the relay and fuse box, before I did that, I checked, too tight, won't be able to open the relay box with it on top of it and I didn't want to drill holes in it. I mountedine where I can see it, using heavy duty wire ties, I mounted it to my grill guard, ran the wires through the grill and the plug is mounted at the lower side of the grill guard. I definitely recommend NOCO GENIUS chargers to anyone, have never had a issue with any one I've bought.
