I suspect the smell is similar to older makeup you eventually need to throw out. Is it better to use the dark brown or black Dermmatch concealer?** A: My hair is exactly the same and I used the dark brown and it worked just fine. My skin is very bright white on my scalp so the dark brown worked to create a shadow. It does not totally darken the skin. I don't think it is meant to do so. It just creates a translucent shadow over the skin, but the effect of it somehow makes my hair look thicker and makes my scalp less visible. If you have a deeper skin tone maybe the black powder would have more effect.
