It enables me to be outside 2 hours longer than I would normally be able to in the summer heat. For me, the ice stays frozen for only about an hour. I do have an extra set of ice packs to switch out when the first set gets to body temperature. It is a bit bulky and heavier than I thought but, If you are heat intolerant at all, it's totally worth the effort!
