My very old one does.** A: Yup. Mold is a huge problem for mine; I've owned several versions. I found it was preventable by taking the brush head off to dry and clean it and the connector area after each use; but then, within a couple months, the strain of taking it off and on again so frequently seemed to break something in the base, and it no longer vibrated well. I ended up switching to a cheap knockoff from overseas, that nonetheless doesn't have the connection gap, and works great. Only problem now is I have no idea how I'll get replacement heads that fit... **Q: What is the difference between this toothbrush and the sonice 2 series?** A: The 4100 has lithium battery, the series 2 uses NiMH. 4100 can be put on charger daily. Series 2 needs to have a drained battery before recharging. The 4100 also has a pressure sensor. I had the same question, and this is the response I got from Phillips. **Q: Is this charger compatible with voltage range of 220V?** A: Hello! Yes, you shouldn't have any issues charging this toothbrush on your travels as long as the voltage of the outlet you're plugging into doesn't exceed 220V.
