I let it soak (he was the life of the party at the wedding and it was drenched with sweat). I rinsed in cold until the water was clear - did not wring it out. Gently squeezed the water out, pressed it between thirsty towels and laid it flat to dry on mesh drying racks I inherited from my dad. Dry cleaning would have cost at least $20, and I feel good about the result.
