Review: Good for prototyping - It's a good kit for prototyping which is what I bought it for. Most of my designs end up being surface mount PCBs but it's a little hard to prototype and test with surface mount components. Lately I found myself spending too much time digging through parts draws and junk boxes when bread boarding circuits to test. I think this kit is going to put a stop to all of that. It's has pretty much all your common components in one place which is how I intent to try and keep it. The product description says the outer case is for shipping only but it seems decent enough to keep everything together on the shelf. All the smaller cases inside are about what you would expect and will keep everything organized well enough. The resistors kit is large but as bad as anybodies in that it is just a bunch of cut reel strips that invariably get tangled together. So the search continues for a good thru-hole resistor storage solution. The parts themself look like they are decent quality as does the entire kit. There are quite few parts I know I'll never use but they are there on the off chance I need one. The prototype boards are nice to have as it seems I never have enough and an extra pair of nippers is always welcome. It's a bit pricey for my needs since I already have much of this but to fill the gaps in my inventory and bring everything together in one place will make it worth it in the time it saves in the long run. If you are just starting out it's a pretty complete kit of common parts and a good start for any bench.

**Q: Many of these kits have resistor wires that are to thin for bread-boarding. Do the resistors in this kit work on breadboards?**
A: We use the industry standard resistors only. Resistors with thick wire diameters are rarely manufactured nowadays.
For using resistors with breadboard we recommend to bend the resistor legs first and then push the resistor into the breadboard by grabbing the leg of the resistor with long nose pliers.

I think I bought this kit 5 years ago and I'm still using parts from it regularly, def a great way to start getting into electronics repair.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Selection

This has a great selection of components. However there are two things that I think could be improved. One is the switches. They work however there is no rating information on them, which would be helpful but isn't the biggest deal. The other is the resistors. They all come in a single box and once you take them out, they barely fit back in, and aren't in any particular order. This makes it difficult at times to find the exact ones I need and sometimes have had to go through every single one to find a particular value. The values are printed on the tape but some of them are not well printed or are cut off. It would be nice if they were put into bags. I understand that you probably couldn't do a bag for each individual value but if they were at least grouped by Ohm, KOhm, MOhm, even that would save me some time and frustration.
