These can be used in any astronomical telescope that can accept standard 1.25" eyepieces.Unlike many more expensive eyepieces for planetary observing, the Starguider Dual ED 8mm eyepiece maintains an excellent eye relief of 16.5mm. With five lens elements in this unique design, this eyepiece is fully internally baffled and all internal spacers have antireflection microbaffles on their edges with flat black anodizing to reduce reflections when viewing the Moon and bright planets. Every air to glass surface is broadband multi-coated for peak light transmission and outstanding contrast on subtle lunar and planetary detail. Spherical aberration of the exit pupil is well controlled, so there are no serious blackouts or kidney-bean effects if you move your eye slightly off the axis.The eyepiece has a twist-up eyecup that can be raised or lowered to provide the eye relief you find most comfortable. This eyepiece is parfocal with other focal lengths in this series, minimizing the amount of refocusing needed when switching from eyepiece to eyepiece. Images are clear and sharp in the wide field view right to the edge. The size and weight are not overwhelming, but the feel is very solid. The twist up eyecup is much better than the flimsy rubber kind. The color rendition of planets is exceptional. Colors are easily seen and vivid. There is a definite difference with this line of eyepieces as to color transmission when compared directly to others. A very nice eyepiece at a very attractive price. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good ED Eyepiece for the Price *by R***K on December 2, 2019* So far happy with the quality after a bit of cleaning of the inside lens. I would rate these a solid 4 stars but I had to take apart the lens to clean a very obvious smudge on the underside of second internal lens. It didn't really cause any problems with viewing but I'm very particular about having clean lenses. taking apart a lens isn't something I would recommend for everyone but I've done this type of thing before and have the patience for it. Fortunately it's easy to do with some simple jewelers tools, the hard part is stacking them back in and giving them a tap to set the lenses back in place. It's not easy cleaning lenses with these types of coating and not leaving fingerprints, lent, or clearer smudges behind but after several attempts success. These have a wide field of view with little edge blur and lens defects. For the price it's a good quality lens for most scopes and most viewing conditions but don't expect $300 eyepiece quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great upgrade over stock for reasonable price *by A***R on May 6, 2016* Wonderful field of view, clarity, and colour.
